Unity In Harlem continues its African American History Month
celebration with a presentation on the female warriors who inspired the Dora Milaje in the Black Panther/Marvel films and the film The Woman King. The Dahomey Warriors known as Agojie, Mino, or Minon, were an all-female military regiment of the Kingdom of Dahomey in West Africa, existing from the 17th century until the late 19th century. They were the only female army in modern history and gained their "Dahomey Amazon" name from Western Europeans who likened them to the female warriors of Greek
mythology. Don’t miss this inspiring presentation by Develyn Edwards. Join us live in person or online!
